Lucy Brennan
emigrated from Ireland. She lived for twelve years in Montreal, before moving to Toronto and then Whitby, Ontario. She has now returned to Toronto.
She received a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Writing in 1992 from Warren Wilson College, North Carolina.
Her poetry has been published in Canada, Ireland, the U.S.A. and the U.K. and her first collection, entitled Migrants All, was published by watershedBooks, Toronto.
She is included in The White Page / An Bhileog Bhán, Twentieth Century Irish Women Poets, published by Salmon Publishing (Ireland, 1999 and re-issued)
Lucy produced a CD of stories and poems, The Tellings and Mad Sweeney.
Lucy is also a playwright. Her play, Daughter of the House, was produced in Toronto in April/May 2008.
She is happiest when entertaining an audience, whether with stories, poetry or as an actor. She tapes “talking books” regularly for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind
